July is National Ice Cream Month
Well it's the last day of National Ice Cream Month and while that doesn't mean an end to the eating of ice cream here, it will probably be a while before I write another post about ice cream.
So to celebrate the last day I want to share with you a recipe I found over at Come Together Kids. It requires only 3 ingredients, a bowl, a hand mixer and a freezer. Yes, this means you could make homemade vanilla soft serve tonight!
Easy Vanilla Soft Serve
You will need:
2 cups whipping cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
Use your hand mixer to whip the cream until you have soft peaks.
Add in the sweetened condensed milk and the vanilla. Mix until it is all combined. Then place in your freezer for about 4-5 hours. I mixed it in a stainless steel bowl so I simply covered that and stuck it in the freezer. You could always put it in a freezer safe container first.
Once it has frozen, serve in cones or bowls. Sprinkles optional. :)
This recipe was so easy to make. Between the whipping cream and the sweetened condensed milk it resulted in a rich and creamy ice cream. You will probably want to serve in small servings since it is so rich. I'm already thinking about other flavors I might want to try with this base recipe. Enjoy.
