What am I watching on Prime Instant Video? Small Space, Big Style from HGTV. I'm only a couple of episodes in right now. It's fun to see how other people decorate their homes and make even a small space work for them.
In one episode a man liked to entertain and wanted a large table to be able to accomodate 10 people. He didn't feel a need for a big office space and put that in a closet.
A couple transformed their tiny kitchen in amazing ways. I will admit, it made me a little claustrophobic seeing how small it was with both of them in there but when you look at all they were able to include it was inspiring. I loved the kitchen ladder, the pantry that was made into a baking center and the cabinet with all of the rolls of paper towels, aluminium foil, and plastic wrap. I wish they had showed us even more.
This program also reminds me of the book, The Not So Big House by Sarah Susanka. In this book the emphasis is on using the space you have in the best way for your family. It really changed my way of thinking about homes.
