Slice of Life Scrapbooking This is one of those Simple Scrapbooks Special Issues. The Simple Scrapbooks mindset works for me so the Is it an expensive magazine issue vs. Is it a “sponsored” (read in ads) softcover book debate doesn’t matter to me. It is broken down into three main categories with multiple subcategories for each. The three main categories include: Things, Places & Time. It is good inspiration whether you want to do just a page or a whole themed album.

Scrapbook Journaling Made Simple (Memory makers) This is a great beginning journaling book. Lots of good ideas for writing the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Even after many years of journaling, I find myself going back to this book for inspiration.

Ok, so it's another FOBTY (From Our Blog To Yours) over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. The question is what songs we are listening to. I would have to say lately I've been listening to the Soundtrack from Mamma Mia. Thank You For The Music is one of my favorites from the soundtrack.

Big Picture Scrapbooking by Stacy Julian really changed the way I scrapbook. I find her method so freeing. Previously, I was a chronological scrapper. Trying to keep up with the events that were happening and "catch up" with the events that happened before I started scrapbooking. And then I read Big Picture Scrapbooking and I'll never be the same.
Stacy's method can seem radical, at first, to the chronological scrapper. But I encourage you to read it and give it a chance. For me it made scrapbooking FUN again. For me, it really is about getting down the stories for my family -- and making the connections. I think it is so much more fun to compare a photo of grandma as a child at her birthday party with a birthday party her grandchild had this year. Now for birthdays I still usually do a chronological page capture but I try to include what made this year different.
I recently started a scrapbook about the city I lived in when I went away to school. I think that Stacy's Big Picture Scrapbooking method influenced my decision to even create such an album -- and it has been quite a fun album to create.
I had a chance to meet Stacy and take a couple of classes with her. If you are a fan, I can tell you that she is as cool and fun as you think.
